Travel Support Awards
The deadline for travel support applications has now passed and all applicants have been informed of the outcome.
We are offering travel support in the form of:
- Accommodation in Kyoto (maximum 6 nights)
- Visa application fees and support (if required)
- A waived workshop registration fee
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer comprehensive travel support to also fund travel to Kyoto. We recommend applying to other travel scholarship funds if institutional/research grant funds are not available to fund your travel.
Application review criteria
There will be very limited travel support available for the meeting. This will be reserved primarily for Early Career Scientists and those working in the Global South. We also require that travel support awardees have either submitted an abstract to the workshop or are a convener on a workshop session (including side sessions).
Additionally, the application review team will consider:
- The quality an applicant’s submitted abstract/session,
- the relevance of the work to the proposed session and workshop more widely,
- Whether the applicant has received support from the CMIP IPO before, and
- The potential capacity building and knowledge sharing potential the applicant could help with following the workshop.
Please note, we are not able to guarantee financial support. If you are able to fund your registration fees and/or trip through your institution or a research grant we recommend that you do. This will allow us to help those who need the support the most.
